March 2015 Workshops/Clinics

Join us Saturday, March 14 from 10am - 3pm to pick up some helpful tips.  The Spring Clinic is free and open to the public so just drop by Hagan Community Center at 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova. 

We’re all set for a great day of training. Our trainers are finalizing their prototypes and presentations. This year’s program is one to use in your back yard as early as this spring. Please arrive early so you can get settled in and find a good seat that gets you ready for the next session. And do not
forget—you do not have to go throught the park entrance to get to the Community Center. We have plenty of free parking within an easy walk for those that arrive early.

Here is what we have planned for the day:

  • 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM Set-up
  • 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM Registration and breakfast snacks
  • 10:00 AM – 10:15 AM General Session and President’s Welcome
  • 10:15 AM – 10:45 AM Garden Railroad Plants & Placement—Nancy Norris. Nancy Schramm will have her plants available for sale after the session and maybe before ten if everyone arrives early.
  • 10:45 AM – 10:55am Break
  • 10.55 AM – 11:40 AM First Session of Workshops
  • 11:40 AM – 12:20 PM Lunch
  • 12:20 PM – 1:00 PM Second Session of Workshops

    • How to Make Miniature People to Scale Part II—Doug Fuller
    • Kadee Coupler Workshop—Dick Friedman (Bring a car, couplers, screw driver, and learn to put Kadee couplers on your own car!)
    • Animation in the Garden Railway—Noel Wilson
  • 1:55 PM – 2:05 PM Break
  • 2:05 PM – 2:45 Fourth Session of Workshops
    • Railroad Escapes in Northern California—Rod Hopkinson (prep work by Steve Miller)
  • 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM Clean up

Elaine Crawford and her crew will have morning snacks and lunch available for a nominal fee. So, spread the word and join us! And, is you have something to share, a new gadget, something you put together, etc., drop it off on our “Bring and Brag Table” and tell us about it!
