The Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society (SVGRS) was formed in 1989 to promote the building, operating and fun of large-scale model railroading through regular meetings and open houses, a newsletter (the Flyer) and special projects that puts the fun back in the "fun-damentals" of garden railroading.
Beside regular monthly meetings, SVGRS holds an annual banquet in January, and a picnic during the summer. During warmer months, we also hold open houses (several each day), so members can visit more garden railroads that may not be able to accommodate a large monthly meeting.
In 2000, we added this website to spread the "fun" a little wider. It contains information to help YOU learn about our club and garden railroading. If you'd like to attend a meeting or an open house, just drop an email to the webmaster at the link at the bottom of the page. You'll also find out about becoming a member if you choose. We can always use new members! The club learns as much from new members as they do from us. So, All Aboard!
In 2009, SVGRS added a list on Yahoo, as a place to exchange information quickly and easily between members who wished to join the list. It is for members ONLY, so join SVGRS and get on the list!
Two ongoing projects are the Modular Group, and the Special Plant Reproduction Interest Group.
